12A Cup Final Tramore 1 Southend 2

What a performance from these lads from Jason at the back to Azzez up front, they were great against a very good Tramore side who played some excellent football at times .The lads took the lead through a brilliant run and shot from Radeem after a flick on from Azzez On the wings Charlie and Boyan worked their socks off and we were a constant threat in the middle Sean and Radeem were running the show. A misunderstanding at the back left Tramore back in the game but that was the only blip in a very commanding performance from Adam, Ben, Jason and Darragh at the back, the introduction of Alan and Adam midway through the second half brought more energy to the side and we deservedly took the lead from an unstoppable header from Sean Keane from a corner. We lost Adam Quelly near the end just as Czerak was going to be introduced to the game but the lads defended brilliantly and held out to win .it’s a joy to watch these young lads play and a lot of credit has to go to Albert, Colin and Dominick for the constant effort they put into making the lads the great side that they are, well done to the whole squad

12 D Cup Final Southend C 5 St Saviours 0

Well done to Mick’s young side as they deservedly picked up some silverware after having a great season .This was a tight game at times against a bigger side but the turning point in the game came in a five minute period midway through the first half when the ever dangerous Shane Moran breached the Saviours defence twice with a couple of neat finishes .Mid-way through the second half , Daniel Byrne killed off the game with two finishes from close range and it was left to Josh Flynn to have the final say with a goal at the death. Great that we got everyone a run on the day, well done to Darragh Hickey for the Man of the Match award and well done also to the Saviours squad for a great performance

12b Cup Kilmacow 3 Southend 1 ,

The lads lost out here to a more physical home side in very warm conditions. We gave away three sloppy goals in this game but we had more than enough chances to win this game but only took the one through Charlie Barden in the second half. We hit the crossbar a couple of times and only for a brilliant performance from the Kilmacow goalkeeper we could have been out of sight at half time. In the end this will be a good learning curve for the lads as Kilmacow took the chances they got and best of luck to them in the next round .Man of the match for us was Sebastian who had a great game in midfield

Under 13A cup semi-final Southend v Bohs
Great performance against a game Bohs team. We were in control for most of the match bar when Jason saved a penalty in the first half. Some great goals scored here which sends us to the final. This team with the under 12 team are going for the double now so let’s hope they give a good account of themselves as they are after being brilliant all season. Scorers tonight were Callum Flynn hatrick, Peter Ellickson two, Sean Keane, Redeem Eddy and Jimmy Byrnes

12b League Southend 3 Kilmacow 1,

Lads got back to winning ways here after the blip during the week. We played some lovely football again with the goals coming from Charlie Barden ,Mohammad and Wojtek. Lots of good performances again today but Matt stood out at the back with a very strong performance.
