SFAI CUP U 12 Southend 1 Stonyford 0.

In very windy and wet conditions we came out on top courtesy of a fantastic bullet of a header from Mohammad Oliditi after a brilliant corner from Adam Dobbyn. Every one of the lads were brilliant from 1 to 14, fighting for every ball and special mention for the work rate which was brilliant from the kick off until final whistle. Only for some great stops from a couple of one on one’s by the Stoneyford keeper we might have increased our lead but the away side played very well and should be proud of themselves .We had some brilliant performances with Charlie Barden running the legs of himself and nearly getting the goal he deserved only for a brilliant stop by the keeper, also great to see to Matt Barrett’s organisation and brilliant tackling but Mohammad Olidit was unplayable as he was everywhere and popped up with the winning goal that takes us through to the last 16 .Well done to both teams and a massive thanks to everyone that supported the lads today and to all the parents that brought along some food for the two teams it was greatly appreciated .

SFAI Cup Lusk 1 Southend 2
Great battling win against a well organised home team from north Dublin. We are very proud of the way the lads battled in very windy and bumpy conditions. We went behind midway through first half with a mix up in defence. The lads never panicked and we got back into the game through Jay Bagge right on the stroke of half time. We had a lot of the ball in second half without troubling their keeper much but we got the winner through Azeez Alabi with a great pass from Shane o Sullivan with a few minutes to go. All the players were brilliant and worked their socks off and just want to give special mention to Redeem Eddy who was immense in second half. And also a huge thanks to the parents of the kids who travelled up to support us, it is really appreciated and we hope that they all come out to support us again in the last 16 next month.
