SFAI Cup U 12 Southend 1 Tallaght Town 1 – Tallaght win 3- 1 on Pens aet

Lads were very unlucky here to go out to a very good Tallaght side in a game that was played in dreadful conditions. Every one of the lads can hold their head up high with the effort they put in from start to finish. Each of them gave their all but it just it wasn’t our day. Both sides played some lovely football at times even in such difficult conditions and after we took the lead through the excellent Charlie Barden, it looked like we might hold on but Tallaght scored a fine goal themselves after we gave the ball away in a bad position. We could not pick a man of the match here as all of the lads were brilliant and they will learn from this experience and the next time it might be our lads that come out on top. They should be all very proud to reach this stage of the competition also we would like to say a big thank you for all the support and the parents that made the lovely food for the young lads after the game it was greatly appreciated

On behalf of the Club, a massive well done to everyone involved in this game .From the parents providing food, the families who braved the elements,, the kids who gave everything on the pitch but especially Robbie Barrett and Derek Hearne who put so much time, energy and effort into looking after this talented bunch of kids, Take a bow lads, it’s well deserved, also, best of luck to Tallaght Town FC in the next round of the competition and thanks for a great game.
