11 Red Tramore v Southend

Two fantastic games played here in brilliant conditions with an amazing 24 goals scored in the two games and only a goal difference in each game which was even more amazing! with each club picking up a win on the day.

Robbie and Scrubber’s lads were unlucky not to get the draw in what was a great game from start to finish. Three times the lads fought back against a strong Tramore side but just couldn’t get the equaliser. There was some good football played by both sides and the commitment and effort that both teams showed was great to see. Our goals came from Charlie Barden 2 and Mohamed , best on the day for us were Matt Barrett and Charlie Barden.

Second game was a great game to watch with goals galore scored between both sides .Micks lads played some great stuff against a determined home side who never gave up. Special mention about one of our goals which was a brilliant team effort, a passing movement from the back and put away brilliantly by Shane Moran.

SFAI Cup u 13 Southend 0 Villa 3

No doubt that the best team on the day got through here as a below par performance was not good enough on the day against a well organised away side .We improved greatly in the second half but just could not get that vital goal to get back into it and in the end , a late goal sealed our faith.

Best of luck to Villa in next round and for our lads it will be back to league action as we try build on our impressive start to the league campaign

An under strength side here had just too much to do here against a strong home side .Best of luck to the Villa lads in next round

Playing Surface

Great to see both pitches looking so well , much of this is due to the work going on in the background by the likes of Ned Tobin and the whole ground staff , well done to all !
